who we are

The Overseas Initiative

The Cuban people have a drive to prosper and grow but have often lacked opportunity to thrive. During that time, the Church suffered great loss. Over the past several years, The Church has experienced the opportunity to grow, and we have been provided an open door to enter.

Vision, Mission and Values

Vision: We want to empower Christians so they can become beacons of hope and opportunity across Cuba.

Mission: We desire to see Cuba transform from within: by giving pastors, laypeople, churches and seminaries a boost towards self-sufficiency, self-sustainability and ultimately becoming self-sending.

Values: We value the Word of God and The Great Commission as our directives.

Calling and History

Over the past decade, we have personally seen the plight of the Cuban people and their deep desire to see The Church grow.
In 2022, God led George and Keith Shamblin to form a 501(c)(3) for the exclusive purpose of supporting and serving the Cuban church and people.

Ministry Model

The Problem:

Local pastors and seminaries lack the financial and technical means for "teaching, instruction, and training in righteousness."
The Cuban people have no understanding of basic economic principles.
Churches are losing members at a staggering pace as desperate people flee for the hope of a better life in the U.S.

The Solution:

The development of training programs provides learning opportunities across the country. Our provision of computers will allow seminary professors to teach students in remote parts of the country.
Partnership with local churches offers intentional, economic advancement to create organic, sustainable income for the Cuban people.
Support of Cuban pastors and the provision of resources will encourage the Cuban people to hold fast in their country.

Goals/Opportunities

Through your support we endeavor to:
Purchase shipping containers with necessary resources for the people of Santa Clara and its surrounding villages
Raise funds for Santa Clara churches to microfinance small business loans for individuals
Partner with the local seminary to host Bible and leadership training for pastors
